Through live actors and interactive scenarios, you’ll step into possible futures and experience firsthand both the incredible possibilities and the real risks of a world increasingly shaped by artificial intelligence.

Created in partnership between Valor Innovation and The Rithm Project, this special experience will leave you with new questions, new perspectives, and an opportunity to think together about how we can use AI without losing what matters most: our humanity and our connection to one another.

1. Community-Wide Opening Session
Thursday, Oct. 8 from 8:30-9:30am.
Open to everyone.
Michelle Culver (Rithm Project) and Daren Dickson (Valor Innovation) frame the moment: what AI and human connection mean for education, and how our community might respond in ways that reflect our values.
2. Immersive Futures Experience
Oct. 7, 8 & 9. Sessions are 2.5 hours.
Five sessions to choose from; first-come, first-served.
A multigenerational experience for families, students, and faculty together. Each session includes an introduction, an immersion into four possible AI futures, and a group debrief on how Valor should prepare and respond. This experience is recommended for students in 7th grade and up.

3. Community Meaning-Making Lunch
Friday, Oct 9 from 1:30–2:30pm . Seating is limited; first come first served.
Open to anyone who attended an Immersive Futures Experience. A smaller group works together to turn what we learned into concrete AI norms, policies, and design guardrails for our community.

Inside the 2.5 hour Immersive Futures Experience
You’re about to time travel.
During Immersive Futures, you’ll step into four different possible futures — four ways our relationships with each other, and with technology, might evolve. You’ll meet performers along the way, interact with them, ask questions, and see what each future feels like from the inside.
This isn’t a prediction. It’s not The Rithm Project or Valor telling you what’s coming, or what should come — no utopias, no warnings, no “right” future among the four. Each one is a provocation, something to react to, push against, or find yourself unexpectedly drawn toward.
Expect it to feel playful, interactive, a little unexpected. There’s no right way to respond. Some of it might unsettle you, some of it might make you laugh, and both are useful — conversations about AI and human connection get serious fast, and they should, but play gets us somewhere logic alone can’t.
Once you’ve traveled through all four, we’ll come back together and ask what you loved, what you’d pull toward us — and what you hated, what you’d fight to keep out. Then the harder question: what does that ask of us today, to build a school community where our relationships with each other and with technology are actually flourishing?
There’s no script for where that goes. Only an invitation to what’s possible.

Pick what works for you or your family! Attend one, two, or all three. Parts 1 and 2 can stand on their own, though you’ll need to have attended the Immersive Experience to attend the lunch.

We strongly encourage families to attend and make meaning together, especially the Immersive Experience. But if a student wants to come on their own, that's fine too.

The content of the Immersive Experience and associated activities is recommended for students in 7th grade and up.

Sessions are first-come, first-served, so register early. If your first choice fills up, pick a backup time when you sign up — we'll confirm your final slot in mid-September.
