Marisol Jimenez | facilitator

Marisol is a design engineer, storyteller, and first-generation college student completing her Bachelor of Science in Design Engineering at Brown University. She is preparing to begin a Master’s in Computer Science at Stevens Institute of Technology, where she will continue exploring the intersection of technology, identity, and equity.

Her work focuses on inclusive design and responsible innovation. She has conducted research on bias and arbitrariness in large language models and has taught creative engineering and coding workshops for middle school girls through DIY Girls, a nonprofit supporting girls and non-binary students of color in STEM.

Marisol is especially interested in the narratives we construct around technology—and whose voices are missing from them. Outside of her work, she lifts heavy weights, knits her own clothes, and reads gothic horror novels
