Head of Creative Studio

The Rithm Project is building the multigenerational leadership force needed to reclaim and evolve human connection in the age of AI. Amid rising youth isolation and technologies with the power to unite or separate us, we connect people and ideas that move us toward a more relational and humane future.

We do this through two intertwined strategies:

  1. The Creative Studio — designing tools, experiences, and content that spark a broad movement of young people becoming savvy consumers of AI and advocates for connection.

  2. The Changemaker Network — uniting cross-sector, multigenerational leaders to redesign the spaces and systems where young people grow up so that connection thrives and AI is integrated in healthy ways.

The Opportunity

As the Head of Creative Studio, you are the creative engine that brings The Rithm Project’s ideas, insights, and provocations to broad audiences.

You’ll play a key synthesis and translation role for the organization — spotting patterns and insights across our research and the work of our Changemaker Network, and translating them into a cohesive strategy of stories, products, and experiences that capture hearts and shift culture.

This role exists to hold a through-line between what the field needs to understand next, and what is actually produced, shipped, and felt. The Head of Creative Studio ensures that The Rithm Project’s voice is nuanced, youth-centered, soulful and actionable.

Zines, social media campaigns, school curricula, interactive games, op-eds and immersive theater may be your tools — but your north star is a tipping point: 10 million young people, and the adults who support them, actively choosing human connection and using AI to strengthen rather than erode relationships.

What You’ll Do

At its core, this role discerns what’s both timeless and new, then brings those ideas to life in ways people can feel—strengthening human connection and agency in how we use and shape AI. It sits at the intersection of listening and making—staying close to what’s emerging in Rithm’s research, youth culture, and Changemaker Network, then translating those insights into creative forms the field can actually feel, use, and carry forward.

The work is equal parts discernment and execution. You listen for what matters next, make deliberate choices about where to focus energy (and what not to make), and steward a high bar for nuanced clarity, actionable wisdom and intentional aesthetics across everything the Studio releases. This role leads a curated creative ecosystem—working with collaborators, partners, designers and contributors—guiding both process and quality while remaining hands-on in the work itself.

Time is intentionally split between internal synthesis and public presence, strategy and production, thinking and making. While the work is timely, the bar is not just speed, volume, or visibility, but resonance, usefulness, and trust.

Concretely, your time is spent across four interconnected arenas:

  • 20% Narrative & Content Strategy — Partner with the Chief R&D Officer and Head of Network to distill key learnings and shape a coherent creative roadmap across communications, educational tools, and experiences.

  • 45% Creative Development & Production — Build, design, and iterate core creative outputs; direct collaborators; and ensure everything we make reflects Rithm’s distinct voice, rigor, and care.

  • 20% Facilitation & Thought Leadership — Serve as a public-facing steward of Rithm’s ideas by facilitating experiences, representing the work in the field, and modeling human connection in practice.

  • 15% Partnerships & Amplification — Cultivate relationships with artists, educators, technologists, and media partners to extend reach, deepen impact, and place the work where it can travel further.

This role is for you if you…

  • Believe human connection is our most vital technology—and embody that belief in how you work

  • Are a natural synthesizer and compelling storyteller, able to translate complex ideas into clear, resonant creative forms

  • Thrive at the intersection of creativity and strategy—dreaming expansively, setting priorities, and moving fluidly from vision to execution

  • Hold a high bar for quality, coherence, and care—and uphold it with integrity

  • Are deeply curious about youth culture, education, and the cultural impacts of AI

  • Have the judgment to say no as confidently as yes

  • Enjoy building with collaborators as a curated studio, not a production line

  • Bring strong taste and discernment, with a belief that how something is made matters as much as what is made

  • Nice to have: Experience working in or alongside the institutions that support young people—schools, youth programs, community organizations—and hold empathy for the unique opportunities and constraints that shape their work given they will be a key “audience” of our content.

Your Experience

We’re seeking someone whose professional journey includes many (but not necessarily all) of these experiences:

  • 8–15 years in editorial strategy, creative direction, design or content leadership (ideally across media, education, and/or social impact).

  • Proven ability to synthesize research and translate insights into engaging, multi-format content.

  • Experience leading creative teams or studios and managing complex production pipelines.

  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills across mediums.

  • Comfort with design and production tools (ex: Figma, Adobe CC, Canva).

  • Track record of building strategic partnerships and extending creative reach through collaborations.
